The European Commission released the updated version of the Guide on EU funding for the tourism sector for the 2014-2020 programming period.

The tourism sector represents the third largest EU economic sector and contributes to nearly 10% to the EU Gross Domestic Product and employs around 17 million people. However, European tourism is confronted with many challenges, such as the need to constantly innovate, improve quality and adapt to the digital revolution.
The scope of the Guide is to adequately support the stakeholders promoting tourism destinations or developing tourism services, offering a comprehensive overview of the financing opportunities coming from the different sector programmes (structural funds and direct management programmes).
